Hey to anyone who is looking for me but can't find me.
In the event I'm not on the internet for the next bit of while, it's because I evacuated to some place without internets (something I swore I'd never do again, but oh well...).
Anyway, where I live is in the cone of uncertainty, and when I woked up this mornin to see Gustav exploded from category nothin to category 3, well that's time for me to sip Shirley Temples on a beach in Florida.

It's amazing the things that get me out of bed and on the internet in the morning...
A few weeks ago I kinda bashed the new Care Bears show for being racially stereotyping, but I forgive them today because they brought back Hugs and Tugs...kind of...
A blue cub and a pink cub in diapers appeared momentarily in the show today to congratulate one of the Care Bears on being a hero or something. They talked like you would expect cubs to talk to, not like the Care Bears cubs from my childhood, and I don't know if they had the correct tummy symbols because it was early in the morning and I was so in shock that they were even there.
Now...if they could only bring them back for a longer period of time... I wonder if anyone could get a clip somehow and put them on Youtube, that'd be great.

Ugh...apparently it takes very little to set me off early on a Saturday morning and ruin my cartoon watching.
So recently they've brought back the Care Bears cartoon on Saturday morning cartoons with a brand new show and new Care Bears. Every now and again, I feel nostalgic and turn it on, secretly hoping they'll have a cameo with Hugs or Tugs or something, but I digress...
This morning when I caught the show I saw a Care Bear I've never seen before, Amigo Bear. Amigo Bear? Seriously? Ok ok, it just means "friend" in Spanish right? It won't be bad...it's ok. Wait never mind, they have him speaking broken English with Spanish words thrown in for fun, muy bueno.
And then it happened...Amigo bear was taking a "Siesta" on the side of a building while he waited for his object of employment to get fixed. You got it...a food cart.
It would have only been more stereotypical if the food cart was a taco cart (as frequently seen in New Orleans recently). Whatever...at least he wasn't hanging outside of Home Depot waiting for a job.
So in closing, dear Care Bears makers...tell me, when are you going to be introducing other racial stereotype bears? Jeez...Care Bear cousins were better than this :P |

Sorry, I know I haven't posted in a while, but my computer was broken for a while, and though it's been fixed for some time now, I just haven't had anything to say. Unfortunately I have something to say tonight...
I guess I'm ashamed of myself because for the first time I realize just how petty and pathetic I, and I'm sure many people are. I act like it's some kind of tragedy when I don't get the kind of stuff for a good price on my car, or that they're out mustard when I go to the grocery, or the fact that gas costs a bajillion dollars a fill up....but I realize for the first time tonight, that's not tragedy, it's just life.
I won't go into details, but my eyes were opened when I saw some real tragedy up close today. Suffice to say, I don't know what I'd do in the situation, and I pray to God I never end up in that situation. Basically, now I feel like trash because I didn't even lift a finger to help...it's like all those Sundays in Church counted for nothing... |

I would too! So everyone's been getting rubberfur pictures recently...and well I decided I couldn't be left out...
There is one big difference though, if you look closely you'll notice that rubber Kammy is kinda see-through and water filled...like a puppy water balloon! This image is a pose that I had Miss Marci take right out of my childhood...Kammy was obviously drinking from the hose when someone behind her told her "NO! DON'T DRINK OUT OF THE HOSE! THAT'S DIRTY!"

So, I saw Spiderman 3 this weekend. It was ok, but I don't think it was as good as the first one. It just felt like they were throwing too many bad guys at him...I mean they was coming out the woodworks! And the whole thing was confusing. I wanted to see more of the Eddie Brock bad guy, but there was hardly anything of him. He was interesting when he got the black suit, and yet they threw him away in a whole span of about 10 minutes. Bleh. I could believe the alien from a meteor. I could believe the genetic stuff that makes Harry a supervillan...but a particle beam experiment thing that turns a guy into a pile of sand...? I'm sure that's how it went down in the comics, but with all the other sci-fi stuff going on in the movie, it was a little hard to choke down.
I'm sure Spiderman true believers will not like what I've said, but I guess that's just someone's take on it who just wanted to spend a weekend at the movies. It was a good movie and I enjoyed it! I just don't think it was superior to the two that preceded it.
Well I guess summer movie-dom is afoot...I can't wait to see Pirates of the Caribbean 3! However, I'm most excited to see the new Harry Potter! Having not read the books I'm kinda in the dark as to what's going to happen, so don't ruin anything for me! I see they have Sirius Black in the trailer, I hope he makes more of an appearance in this film since he was hardly in the 4th one. |

So um...I'm seeing a person romantically again. Not anyone I've seen before mind you, this is a new someone. And I need to know if I'm a horrible person. :(
What if you like someone's personality, and you like being around them, and you have tons of stuff in common with them, but you think they could stand to lose 15 pounds before you could even think of getting intimate with said person?
And it's not like I can say, "You're fat...lose weight...be sexy," I just don't have the guts.
I'm a terrible person huh?

Happy Mardi Gras everyone! You may not know this, but even though Mardi Gras means "Fat Tuesday," it really is an event that lasts from this Friday all the way till next Wednesday (Ash Wednesday). It's kind of confusing like that, but only in recent years has the entire celebration been called "Mardi Gras."
Back when I was a young pup, the event was called "Carnival" with Mardi Gras just being the Tuesday. I'm not sure when or why this changed, buuuuuut you can be sure I'll be living it up for the next few days.
That being said, dun expect to hear from me for the next few days, or if you do you should be forewarned that I am not responsible for a single word I say since I will most likely be under the influence of large quantities of alcohol or a hangover depending on the day.
It's good to be back in New Orleans, if even for just a little while. I think the city is a much better place to visit than to live personally. But it does have it's charm. If there's one thing I can say, this is the cleanest I've EVER seen the city during Mardi Gras, and it's packed too! I'm not sure what they're doing differently, but I like it. I'm most excited about Saturday night, which is when Endymion rolls through town.
If you've never been to a real New Orleans Mardi Gras parade before, I'm not sure how I'd describe it. It's as if 1500 guys got together, rented the Super Dome, and said "LET's HAVE A HUGE CRAZY PARTY! AND EVERYONE'S INVITED!" I've seen what they call the Rose Bowl Parade thing...well let me tell you, the little floats in our parades down here make the Rose Parade floats look like dust mites. :)

Soooo I get out of one relationship...and crazy me I decide I want another one...but a good one.
I've been bombarded with those damn commercials for all the matchmaking, so I signed up for one...payed $$$ to get my matches. You know how many there are?

At this point I'm wondering if I've been suckered or not...
I'm leaning towards yes of course. Can I just have one break? Just a little one? Please oh matchmaking gods?

This is gonna sound silly I knows...but is there such a thing any more as real Kung Fu teachers? And I dun mean Bruce Lee's kind of Kung Fu, Jeet Kun Do or something, but like Kung Fu Kung Fu...like in the movies? Cause I wanna learn real Kung Fu. Of course...I not flexible or nothin though. :P
A friend of mine is on a Kung Fu movie kick...so of course I being forced to watch all these movies am also on a kick of Kung Fu of sorts. Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, Stephen Chow, Master Monk Guan, Jet Li, Moo Goo Gai Pan, Michelle Yeoh, all those Asian guys (and girl)!
It seems to me that to be really good at Kung Fu you gotta have your own personal instructor person though (sensei?). I mean in lots of the movies there are a ton of guys that are takin karate and stuff as a group, but you never see them do anything cool cause they're not like the main character person. But the main character always gots his own teacher!
I want one of those too! Where can I find one? |

Remember when I said last time that I was upset about having to break up with someone? Well, I still haven't been able to do that yet cause I haven't seen that person face to face...
But this person's actions over the telephone today...have me seriously freaked out. I don't feel so bad anymore about wanting to end it. At this point it isn't so much as will I...but when and how.
I mean 7 calls to me at work to ask how I'm feeling and breathing very deeply with me each time saying, "Um...HELLO? I'm at work, please stop calling me here." You think this person would have gotten the clue.
